Please see the below reason and the <br />attached <br />1) When using butt hinge the door stile is milled out, and when milling a thermal door stile you are milling away <br />the thermal break. The Thermal insulbar is crimped in and is what holds the door together. By milling that out <br />would give the door a tendency to come apart. <br />2) Butt hinges requires a backer plate, and with the thermal door stile a backer plate cannot be used.
