Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #16-04-084 <br />RESOLUTION TO HIRE SEASONAL PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE <br />WORKERS AND TEMPORARY INTERNS <br />WHEREAS, annually the City employs Seasonal Public Works Maintenance <br />Workers to perform work in the Parks, Streets, and Utilities Divisions of Public Works <br />and Interns to work in Administrative Services, Community Development, Engineering, <br />and Parks; and <br />WHEREAS, staff has found a significant benefit to seasonal public works <br />maintenance workers and interns; and <br />WHEREAS, staff selected 11 qualified entry level seasonal candidates; and <br />WHEREAS, staff selected 2 qualified semi -entry level seasonal candidates to <br />work in the recently established semi -entry level seasonal role as allowed by the 2015 - <br />2016 AFSCME labor agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, staff selected 4 qualified interns; and <br />WHEREAS, all candidates passed the pre -employment screening; and <br />WHEREAS, staff recommends hiring the selected 2016 candidates listed below. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />Motion to adopt resolution #16-04-084 to hire the following employees: <br />A. Entry level seasonal employees: <br />A. First year: Daniel Jacob, Gunnar Ledin, Karlee Money, Jayden <br />Stone, Bradley Beaver, Alex Foyt, and Jacob Vanness at $10.00 <br />per hour with start dates ranging from mid -May to early June. <br />B. Second year and greater: Taylor Bushinski, Taylor Moshier, Ethan <br />Scheuring, and Jake Marks at $10.25 per hour with start dates ranging <br />from mid -May to early June. <br />Semi -entry level seasonal employees: Tim Barrett and Tom Marks at <br />$16.57 per hour for up to 6-months, beginning in April. <br />
