Jason (DNR) <br />Subject: City of Anoka - Planned Unit Development Application <br />Date: Monday, March 21, 2016 2:38:13 PM <br />Attachments: PUD DNR Letter 3-1-16.odf <br />Riveralace Architectural Site Plan Packaae 2-26-16.odf <br />Riveralace Civil Site Plan Packaae 2-26-16.odf <br />Chuck: <br />I have reviewed the proposed plans for this development and have the following comments: <br />• DNR recommends that the bluff setback be increased from the proposed 30 feet to 40 feet. <br />The "Interim Development Regulations for the Mississippi River Critical Area Corridor" <br />contained in Executive Order No. 79-19 call for a minimum bluff setback of 40 feet, and the <br />proposed new Rules for the Critical Area also call for a 40-foot bluff setback. <br />• We also recommend that the bluff and bluff impact zone be maintained or restored to <br />native, deep-rooted perennial vegetation for habitat, soil stability and water quality <br />benefits. <br />Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
