Riverplace Counseling Workshop <br />April 21, 2016, 5:00 p.m. <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, Lake Itasca Room <br />Materials provided by residents at beginning of meeting. The residents presented an advisory petition <br />raising several concerns and questions. The comments from this letter is incorporated herein. The <br />general topics included: <br />1. Perception of improper notification <br />a. Anoka followed the statutorily required 350 foot mailing radius and Notice in official <br />newsletter. <br />2. Process for original property acquisition by Anoka (circa 2008) <br />3. Potential for contaminated soils <br />4. Access to Highway 10 (motor vehicle) <br />5. Compliance with Mississippi River Corridor Critical Area (MRCCA) <br />6. Safety on Mississippi River Trail (MRT) <br />The following questions were raised as part of the workshop itself. <br />1. How many pedestrian trips will this use generate? <br />2. Is there a better location this use could be located? <br />3. Does the program accept individuals with pending sexual conduct cases? <br />4. Is there sufficient parking for demand? (limited options for overflow parking) <br />5. Would Riverplace Counseling consider a shuttle service in lieu of the lack of pedestrian <br />connectivity? <br />6. Why didn't the City of Ramsey comment on this proposal sooner? <br />One additional comment was left after the workshop. <br />1. Concerned about security for my wife and children. Additional troubled people wandering <br />through neighborhood. <br />
