The applicant will not receive clients at the property. City Code stipulates that a home occupation permit will not be permitted if the density and lot sizes in the surrounding neighborhood are determined to be incompatible with the proposed business operation. The proposed business will be located on a large parcel, surrounded by other large parcels. It is staffs opinion that the nature of proposed business operation and the size of the subject property and surrounding properties make .the operation compatible with the sun'ounding residential neighborhood, thus meeting the intent of City Code. The applicant is requesting permission to place a small business sign at the end of his driveway on Nowthen Blvd. City Code does not permit such signs in the residential district, except as part of a Home Occupation Permit request. The applicant is requesting a 2' x 3' sign. Staff is supporting the request for the sign, given its small size. Staff is also recommending a maximum height of 6 feet for the sign. Recommendation: City staff recommends approval of the request for a home occupation permit to operate a glass and mirror business within an accessory structure. Commission Action' Motion to recommend that the City Council adopt Findings of Fact relating to Stephen Graunke's request for a home occupation permit.
