Bowers Drive is considered the li'ont yard and the lXlississippi River is considered the back yard. She stated that in 1985 the City adopted rcgulati~ms for properties within the Critical River Corridor. Sl',e stated, however, in many of the previous instances along Bowers l)rivc, thc homes were mt,~& closer to the river and thus provided ample room in the fi'ont yard to at least meel thc minimmn front yard setback of forty feet. She indicated there is screening, in iht: l'om~ of trees and t:~ll shrubs, along the front and both side property lines, which would help to c¢mc,,,~al the proposed .;tructure fi'om the public road and neighboring properties. Public I learing Stove Dchcn, 147~0 Bowers Drive stated they want to get another structure, as they own two boats and two lrail~rs and do not w~mt it all exposed and have the yard look like a junk yard. He would have siding ~o match the hour;e, so the structure would blend in. Chairperson Nixt it~dicated staler is suggesting the size be reduced to accommodate a 15 foot setback.
