20 ginutes CASE ~1: <br /> <br />DISCUSS DYSPROSIUM STREET NW RIGHT-OF-WAY <br /> By: Pete Raatikka, City Engineer <br /> <br />A. Dysprosium Street NW <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On May 27, 1987 City Council ordered right-of-way acquisition plans to bring <br />Dysprosium Street NW up to County standards and evaluate other alternatives for <br />the alignment of Trunk Highway #47. <br /> <br />I have discussed the possibility of making Dysprosium Street NWa County road <br />with the Anoka County Engineering Department and they said the existing right- <br />of-way of 80 feet with the ten foot utility, easements on each side would be <br />adequate for a County road. They did recommend the acquisition of 120 feet of <br />right-of-way between the Flintwood Third Addition and existing C.S.A.H. No. 5. <br />This amounts to the acquisition of approximately 1.6 acres of right-of-way. <br />Prior to the acquisition of the right-of-way, the City should enter into an <br />agreement with the County to determine if the County will take over Dysprosium <br />Street NW as a County road and if they will build the road or reimburse the <br />City for the construction. <br /> <br />Enclosed is a proposed resolution authorizing Staff to work with the County in <br />preparing an agreement. I will have a right-of-way plan available for your <br />review at the meeting. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Adopt Resolution #87-~ directing City Staff to work with Anoka County in <br />preparing an agreement for designating Dysprosium Street NW as a County <br />road. <br /> <br />B. Trunk Highway #47 Realignment <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />As directed, I have reviewed the possibility of realigning T. H. #47 south of <br />142nd Avenue NW and connecting to the Thurston Avenue bridge. Based on the <br />plan presented by Anoka County, it is possible physically to realign T. H. #47 <br />south of 142nd Avenue NW and connect to Thurston Avenue. I will present other <br />possible alternatives at the meeting. <br /> <br />Should you elect to pursue one of the alternatives, you will have to enter into <br />an agreement with Mn/DOT and the City of Anoka to establish the realignment of <br />T. H. #47. <br /> <br />Enclosed is a proposed resolution directing Staff to work with the City of <br />Anoka and Mn/DOT to establish the realignment of T. H. #47 between 142nd Avenue <br />~ and T. H. 410 utilizing Thurston Avenue. <br /> <br /> <br />
