10 Hinutes CASE ~:

DISCUSS NEED TO REQUIRE PARAMETER FROST
FOOTINGS ON NON-AGRICULTURAL BUILDINGS
By: Dave Rartley, City Administrator

Background:

In the past the City Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission have
discussed the possibility of requiring continuous parameter frost footings
around all non-agricultural buildings as a measure to assure the construction
of a quality structure. Some question has been raised whether or not such a
measure would in fact result in "quality" structures being constructed in
Ramsey as opposed to lesser quality structures sometimes referred to as pole
buildings.

The City's Building Official will be present to assist in the discussion about
THE QUALITY OF CONSTRUCTION.

Recommendation:

Council action will be to discuss.

Review Checklist:

Administrator
Attorney
Engineer
Community Development Director

Chief of Police
Finance Officer
Public Works Superintendent
Building Official
