Councilmember LeTourneau introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #14-07-147 <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING REMOVAL OF THE SOUTHERLY ALIGNMENT OF <br />RIVERDALE DRIVE EXTENSION EAST OF TUNGSTEN STREET FROM THE <br />TRUNK HIGHWAY 10 ACCESS PLANNING STUDY. <br />WHEREAS, MnDOT and Anoka County, in cooperation with the Cities of Ramsey and <br />Anoka, are conducting a Trunk Highway 10 (TH 10) Access Planning Study to re-examine and <br />identify the ultimate amount, types and locations of access to TH 10 between the Anoka/Sherburne <br />County line west of Ramsey and the Rum River in the City of Anoka; and <br />WHEREAS, numerous Concept Plans are being developed to study optional <br />improvements along the corridor to limit access to TH 10 and reduce congestion at the at -grade <br />intersections; and <br />WHEREAS, the southerly alignment of the Riverdale Drive extension east of Tungsten <br />Street conflicts with a proposed subdivision along Rivlyn Avenue to the south; and <br />WHEREAS, an alternative alignment of Riverdale Drive extension east of Tungsten Street <br />is also shown to the north abutting Highway 10; and <br />WHEREAS, the southerly alignment creates a double frontage for residential parcels on <br />the north side of Rivlyn Avenue; and <br />WHEREAS, at least one (1) property owner impacted by the extension of Riverdale Drive <br />east of Tungsten Street is opposed to both alignments; and <br />WHEREAS, the northerly alignment will allow a current land use application known as <br />Ridgepoint to move forward as presented; and <br />WHEREAS, Village Bank, Applicant for Ridgepoint, has requested that the southerly <br />alignment be removed from future consideration from the Highway 10 Access Planning Study; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, maximum future land use options are preserved with the northerly alignment; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey requests that the southerly alignment be removed from <br />future consideration due to the availability of other more viable options. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br />
