CHARLES WEAVER <br /> By: Dave Hartley, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Fiscal disparities is a method of redistributing the market value of commercial <br />property within the Metropolitan Area in such a way that all communities will <br />benefit from growth in the Metropolitan Area. Fiscal disparities has been in <br />place since the early 1970's when Mr. Charles Weaver and other legislators <br />presented the concept to the State Legislature as a means of treating the <br />entire Metropolitan Area as one community when it comes to commercial growth <br />and development. Mr. Weaver will review with the City Council the current <br />status of fiscal disparities and the proposed changes which face all <br />communities as it relates to fiscal disparities. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Council action will be to discuss. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />Administrator <br />Attorney <br />Engineer <br />Community Development Director <br /> <br />X <br /> <br />Chief of Police <br />Finance Officer <br />Public Works Superintendent <br />Other <br /> <br /> <br />
