County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />COURT HOUSE ANOKA, MINNESOTA55303 421-4760 <br /> <br />September 19, 1987 <br /> <br />NATALIE HAAS STEFFEN <br />County Boord of Commissioners <br />District/11 <br /> <br />Mr. David Hartley, Administrator <br />City of IRamsey <br />15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W. <br />Anoka, MN 55303 <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Hartley: <br /> <br />In response to questions raised by residents of the City of Ramsey concerning landfill <br />issues, I am hosting a public information meeting on Monday~ September 28~ 1987~ at <br />7:00 P.M. in the IRamse¥ City Hall Council Chombers. <br /> <br />This letter is an effort to communicate directly with elected officials from the City <br />of IRamsey, members of the IRamsey Landfill Commission, and residents who live <br />within a quarter mile of the boundaries of the current landfill and the potential <br />landfill Site P. <br /> <br />Questions have arisen concerning: I) the status of ground water contamination at the <br />current Anoka Landfill site; 2) the request for the vertical expansion of the Anoko <br />Landfill site; and 3) a potential new landfill at Site P. <br /> <br />The purpose of the meeting is solely to clarify and to inform residents about landfill <br />issues. Specific topics to be discussed include: l) status of studies in <br />progress; 2)scheduled events and actions; and 3) which agency is responsible for <br />specific studies and actions. <br /> <br />Representatives from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, the Metropolitan <br />Council, and the County will be at the meeting to provide information and to answer <br />questions. <br /> <br />If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at fl21-4760, extension 1171.
