15 Minute. CASE ~10:

RUM RIYER/COUB~TY ROAD ~116 BRIDGE
By: Dave Hartley, City Adminisrator

Background:

For several years Anoka County and the City of Ramsey have been planning a
bridge across the Rum River to connect County Road f/l16 in Ramsey with County
Road 4/116 in Andover. Environmental reviews have been completed, easements
have been acquired, and some approach work has been completed on the Andover
side, however, at the present time the County does not have bonding authority
to borrow sufficient funds to construct the bridge. Other communities in Anoka
County have assisted the County with its bonding limits by borrowing money for
the County and permztting the County to pay those communities back from future
revenues. At this time the City Council may want to discuss just such a
scenario as a means of establishing the Rum River Bridge. Data will be
available at the meeting on September 22, 1987 illustrating the limits of the
City's ~znancial resources.

Recommendation:

Council action will be to discuss.
\

Review Checklist:

Administrator X
Attorney
Engineer _,.
Community Development Director

Chief of Police
Finance Officer
Public Works Superintendent
Other
