i0. On December 2, 1987, we checked the level of the groundwater and found that the level was 15 inches higher than on November !987. Records indicate that the groundwater level has recovered to the level prior to the dewatering. I informed Mr. Miller of the rise in the water table level and asked if we could try to retest pump his well. He stated he would not let anyone touch his well because Len's Well Service stated it was unrepairable. 11. On December 2, 1957, I also quessioned Mr. Miller on the quality of water in his well and asked if he drank it. He said he had good water, which was drinkable and Anoka County had tested it last spring. I obtained a copy of the County's test which showed a nitrate level of 2.7 milligrams per liter. The drinking water standard is 10 milligrams per liter. Alternatives to supply water to Millers are as follows: Have a new well installed a depth which meets the requirements of the Minnesota Department of Health. This cost is estimated to be over $3,000. Connecu the Miller residence to the newly installed watermain on 139th Avenue and Sunfish Lake Blvd. This cost is estimated to be approximately $1,800. This does not include any assessments that would normally be charged. Accept no responsibility and inform Mr. Miller he will have to obtain his own water supply. Mr. Miller has indicated he would take legal action if water is not restored to his property. Due to the depth and age of his old well, Mr. Miller has agreed to pay $!,000 towards either a new well or city water serx~ice.
