CASE #4:

CONSIDER AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 110 OF THE CITY CODE REGARDING
REGULATIONS FOR KEEPING HORSES
By: Community Development Director Anne Norris

Background:

As you may recall, earlier this year the Commission considered a request
for a conditional use permit to keep a horse on a parcel approximately one
acre in size which the City Council ultimately denied.

At present, Chapter 110 of the City Code requires three acres of land for
each horse maintained. Several Commissioners have reviewed this section of
the City Code and have suggested that this acreage requirement be
decreased.

For your information, the following items are enclosed:

a) Existing Chapter 110 of the City Code regarding horses.
b) Proposed Chapter 110 of the City Code regarding horses.

Recommendation:

Commission Action:

Will be based on your discussion.

Review Checklist:

Administrator
Attorney
Engineer
Community Development Director

X

Chief of Police
Finance Officer
Public Works Superintendent
Other
