increase the 1988 budget for professional services in order to retain Mr. Merland Otto for park activities. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Commissioners Prall, Johnson, Lokker, Rustad and Shumway. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairman Lichter and Commissioner Hetland. Commissioner Prall discussed proposed Central Park improvements and commented that she had met with Chairman Lichter and Merland Otto at the City Council meeting on July 7 and stated that the City Council is in favor of going ahead with Alternative 1 for Central Park and Titterud Park improvements. In addition, the Council requested that Merland Otto and the Park Commission determine whether there would be any volunteer labor or money for some of these improvements. Commissioner Shumway suggested that the various organizations that use the parks be requested to participate in the future improvements for those parks. The Commission discussed the possibility of meeting with representatives of the various organizations in Ramsey to coordinate volunteer labor and possible funds for development of Central Park. Commissioner Prall volunteered to contact representatives of these organizations. The Park Commission reviewed Capital Improvement Plan for parks and will use the assessment sheets of the existing city parks to assist in planning for future park improvements. The Commission noted that it would like to spend most of it's August meeting working on the Capital Improvement Plan for park improvements. Case #3: Di~cu~sio~ Re~ardin? Trails: Commissioner Shumway noted that he had drafted a map showing possible trail corridors and he will bring it to the next meeting for the Commission's review. In addition, the DNR should be contacted to determine whether there are dollars for acquisition and development of trails for snowmobiles, horses and/or skiers. Commissioner Shumway proceeded to review his proposed corridors along Trott Brook which would be for horses and mixed use; a proposed corridor from the existing arena to the Wayside Rest Park via Northfork for horses; and a trail corridor from Ramsey Elementary School down to River's Bend Park via the ditch and drainage routes which would be a mixed use trail excluding horses and motorized vehicles. Commissioner Shumway stated that he will also have trail funding information available at the next meeting. Case #4; Discussion Re~ardin~ Review Of Parks: Ms. Norris was supposed to send assessment information to Commissioners Shumway and Lokker as they were not at the last meeting.
