Voting Yes: Commissioners Prall, Johnson, Lokker, Rustad <br />and Shumway. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairman Lichter and Commissioner <br />Hetland. <br /> <br />Commissioner Prall discussed proposed Central Park improvements and <br />commented that she had met with Chairman Lichter and Merland Otto at the <br />City Council meeting on July 7 and stated that the City Council is in favor <br />of going ahead with Alternative 1 for Central Park and Titterud Park <br />improvements. In addition, the Council requested that Merland Otto and the <br />Park Commission determine whether there would be any volunteer labor or <br />money for some of these improvements. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shumway suggested that the various organizations that use the <br />parks be requested to participate in the future improvements for those <br />parks. <br /> <br />The Commission discussed the possibility of meeting with representatives of <br />the various organizations in Ramsey to coordinate volunteer labor and <br />possible funds for development of Central Park. <br /> <br />Commissioner Prall volunteered to contact representatives of these <br />organizations. <br /> <br />The Park Commission reviewed Capital Improvement Plan for parks and will <br />use the assessment sheets of the existing city parks to assist in planning <br />for future park improvements. The Commission noted that it would like to <br />spend most of it's August meeting working on the Capital Improvement Plan <br />for park improvements. <br /> <br />Case #3: Di~cu~sio~ Re~ardin? Trails: <br /> <br />Commissioner Shumway noted that he had drafted a map showing possible trail <br />corridors and he will bring it to the next meeting for the Commission's <br />review. In addition, the DNR should be contacted to determine whether <br />there are dollars for acquisition and development of trails for <br />snowmobiles, horses and/or skiers. Commissioner Shumway proceeded to <br />review his proposed corridors along Trott Brook which would be for horses <br />and mixed use; a proposed corridor from the existing arena to the Wayside <br />Rest Park via Northfork for horses; and a trail corridor from Ramsey <br />Elementary School down to River's Bend Park via the ditch and drainage <br />routes which would be a mixed use trail excluding horses and motorized <br />vehicles. Commissioner Shumway stated that he will also have trail funding <br />information available at the next meeting. <br /> <br />Case #4; Discussion Re~ardin~ Review Of Parks: <br /> <br />Ms. Norris was supposed to send assessment information to Commissioners <br />Shumway and Lokker as they were not at the last meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson and seconded by Commissioner Prall to table <br /> Park & Recreation/July 9, 1987 <br /> <br />Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
