4) Regular City Council meeting minutes dated July 28, 1987. <br /> <br />NOTE PLA~ING A~ND ZONING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />The Commission noted the following: <br /> <br />1) Planning and Zoning Commission public hearing minutes dated July 7, <br />1987 regarding Ms. Mary Ellen Walsh's request for a conditional use permit. <br /> <br />2) Planning and Zoning Commission public hearing minutes dated July 7, <br />1987 regarding Mr. Gerald Bauer's request for preliminary plat approval. <br /> <br />3) Planning and Zoning Commission public hearing minutes dated July 7, <br />1987 regarding Mr. Jim Franklin's request for a conditional use permit° <br /> <br />4) Regular Planning and Zoning Commission meeting minutes dated July 7, <br />1987. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case ~1: Discussion Re~ardin~ RamsCy Lions Proposed Facility For <br /> Central !ark: <br /> <br />Merle Mevissen stated that the Lions are intending to build a warming house <br />at Central Park. Grading on certain park improvements will begin the week <br />after the Game Fair. There are no plans for the building as yet. <br /> <br />Gordy Lee and Tim Kelsey were present at the meeting representing the boys' <br />baseball league. They commented that there were no baseball facilities in <br />the City of Ramsey. Children are presently playing baseball until the 6th <br />grade and then going elsewhere to continue playing or switching to <br />softball. The league submitted a petition requesting baseball facilities <br />in Ramsey; the league can volunteer labor, etc., to assist in this project. <br />The league stressed that their best ball players are going to Coon Rapids. <br />The league needs a basic field; lighting and irrigation could come later. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Hetland and seconded by Commissioner Shumway to <br />forward the petition to the City Council and to recommend that a ball <br />diamond be constructed at Central Park. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: <br />Rustad, Prall and Hetland. <br />Lokker and Johnson° <br /> <br /> Chairman Lichter, Commissioners Shumway, <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners <br /> <br />Tim Kelsey requested that he be notified when the case will be presented to <br />City Council so that league members can be present at the meeting. <br /> <br />Case ~2: Discussion Re~rdin~ Five Yeam Capital Improvement Plan For <br /> Parks.; <br /> <br />The Commission tabled this case until their regular September meeting and <br />asked each commission member to have proposals ready. <br /> <br />The Commission did note some equipment needs as follows: <br /> Park & Recreation Commission/August 13, 1987 <br /> <br />Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
