Councilmember DeLuca inquired as to how long Mr. Erickson will be on the
workman's comp program.

Mr. Bartley stated that Mr. Erickson will be on the program until he is
earning a salary commensurate with what he was earning prior to his injury.

Mayor Reimann stated that at the time Mr. Erlckson was hired, it was agreed
that salary adjustments would be made once Mr. Erickson attained his Class
2 certification.

Councilmember Cox stated that the City should not feel guilty because State
revenue is going into this situation as the City does not receive it's fair
share of local aids.

Councilmember DeLuca inquired if a comparable worth pay plan can be adopted
for Elvin Erickson with the effective dated tied to Class 2 certification.

Mr. Hartley replied that the law requires that a pay plan be in place;
without one the City can be sued for not compiying with the law. Mr.
Hartley also cautioned against creating a situation where discrimination of
any form could be suggested.

Councilmember Cox stated that the plan proposed by Councilmember DeLuca is
not discrimination; it is a confirmation of the City's original agreement
with Mr. Erickson.

Mr. Hartley suggested that a closed executive session be scheduled to
continue this discussion because it is related to labor matters involving
the bargaining unit and it could have litigative implications.

Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to
schedule a Closed Executive Session for Tuesday, July 7, 1987 at 7:00 p.m.
at Ramsey Municipal Center.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox,
DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None.

C~ Discuss With City Attorney Valley Pavin? Company Vs.
Northfork Development. Lawsuit:

Mr. Goodrich reported that City Staff and North Fork, Inc. rejected work
done by Valley Paving in Northfork; Valley Paving filed a lawsuit against
the City, North Fork and certain landowners in Northfork. Northfork
Project Manager Dennis Peck has indicated that Valley Paving has agreed to
correct their work and release North Fork, the City and most of the
homeowners from the lawsuit; the lawsuit will be between Rehbein, Inc. and
Valley Paving.

~ Adoption Of Resolution Re~ardin~ Acquisition Of Easements
Relatin~ To The Industrial Area Sewer And Water Project:

City Attorney Goodrich stated that Staff is not getting good responses from
property owners for easements necessary for the sewer and water project.
City Council/June 30, 1987
