City Attorney Goodrich read the ordinance addressing grading and mining <br />permits, <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca directing <br />that Mr. Raudio and Mr. Menveld apply for a permit to conduct the filling <br />portion of their operation according to Chapter 70 of the Building Code; <br />that no more fill will be brought onto the subject property; that the <br />holders of the existing grading and mining permit may continue to remove <br />materials from the ~ite in accordance with that permit. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Cox, DeLuca and <br />Pearson. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Sorteberg. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson and seconded by Councilmember Cox directing <br />that Mr. Raudio comply with the existing grading and mining permit and <br />remove all organic materials that were buried on the site at 149th and <br />Ramsey Blvd. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Cemetery In The Vicinity Of The Airoort: <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox requested that staff take necessary action to have the <br />brush at the airport cemetery removed and indicated that there is no need <br />to mow or groom the cemetery grounds. <br /> <br />~se #8.A Discussion Re~ardin~ Alternatives For Police Protection: <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox requested that staff gather information from Andover <br />regarding the terms and cost of contracting police protection from Anoka <br />County. <br /> <br />Case #9: Proper Procedure For Notification Of Special Council Meetings: <br /> <br />Councilmember DeLuca noted added requirements to the open meeting law <br />resulting from the 1987 legislative session. Three days notice is now <br />required for calling special Council meetings. Councilmember DeLuca <br />inquired if Council could schedule one meeting per week and cancel those <br />meetings for which there is no business. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich replied that the procedure suggested by Councilmember DeLuca <br />is not likely to be Consistent with the intent of the open meeting law. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson and seconded by Councilmember Cox to <br />adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
