The Commission noted the following: <br />1. Park and Recreation Commission regular meeting minutes dated May 14, <br />1987. <br />2. Park and Recreation Commission regular meeting minutes dated June 18, <br />1987. <br />Motion by Commissioner Hendriksen and seconded by Commissioner Shumway <br />that the Commission consider no new business after 10:00 p.m. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Shumway, <br />Hendriksen and LaDue. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Howell and <br />Holm. <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br />Case #1: Request For Conditional Use Permit To Extract Aggregates And <br />Establish A Bituminous Asphalt Plant In The I-1 Industrial <br />District; Case Of Barton Sand And Gravel: <br />Ms. Norris stated that Barton has requested that the Commission table <br />action on this case until August. <br />The Commission requested that staff obtain a determination from the City <br />Attorney regarding whether the applicant can continue tabling action on <br />this request. <br />Motion by Commissioner Hendriksen and seconded by Commissioner LaDue to <br />table Barton's request. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Shumway, <br />Hendriksen and LaDue. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Howell and <br />Holm. <br />Case #2: Request For Conditional Use Permit To Keep A Horse On A Parcel <br />Of Less Than Three Acres; Case Of Mr. Robert MashuQa: <br />Mr. and Mrs. Mashuga were present. <br />Commissioner Shumway stated that he had no objection to the request <br />provided there are provisions to respond to complaints from neighbors. <br />Commissioner Shumway also noted that he is recommending a revision to City <br />Code regarding acreage requirements for horses. <br />The Commission reviewed the site plan. <br />Mr. Luoma - 16313 Marmoset - Stated that last month several commissioners <br />had stated that they would do an on -site inspection; expressed concern that <br />approval of this request will set a precedent. <br />Commissioner Shumway stated that he did not do an on -site inspection. <br />Planning & Zoning/July 7, 1987 <br />Page 3 of o <br />SC( <br />
