At times maintenance needs will be <br />more critical and at times there may be a big improvement to be done. <br /> <br />Chairperson Elvig stated it makes great sense to try to get more flexibility. This would almost <br />have to be run parallel with the revenue streams, one being assets and one being maintenance <br />based. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Strommen, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to table the <br />discussion of the ordinance amending Chapter 3 and repealing and replacing Section 3.40 <br />entitled "City Funds" for discussion at a Council worksession. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Chairperson Elvig, and Councilmembers Strommen and <br /> <br />Case #3: Replacement of Alto-Sensors & Camera <br /> <br />Police Chief Way reported the Police Department is seeking to replace three Alco-Sensor <br />instruments. These are the roadside screening devices they use for detection of drunk drivers. <br />The Police Department would also like to replace one of the 35mm cameras with a digital <br />camera; the money for this would come through the Equipment Replacement Fund. The <br />purchase of one digital camera was a budgeted item. <br /> <br />Chairperson Elvig asked if the City has the software needed to handle the camera. <br /> <br />Police Chief Way responded in the affirmative. <br /> <br />Motion by Councihnember Strommen, seconded by Councilmember Zimmennan, to recommend <br />that the City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the replacement of three (3) Preliminary <br />Breath Test instruments, the replacement of one (1) digital camera, and the purchase of one (1) <br />additional camera for an amount not to exceed $2,620.00, utilizing $2,275.35 from the <br />equipment replacement fund with the remaining amount funded under police line item accounts. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: <br />Zimmernaan. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Chairperson Elvig, and Councilmembers Strommen and <br /> <br />COMMITTEE INPUT <br /> <br />Nolle. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman, seconded by Councilmember Strommen, to adjourn the <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Finance Committee/May 25, 2004 <br /> Page 5 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
