Councilmember Cox stated that he has also received calls from citizens <br />regarding disbanding the police department, including a call from a St. <br />Franci~ police officer that lives in P~amsey. Councilmember Cox stated that <br />there has been no decision by this Council to disband the police <br />department; there has been discussion of researching the option of <br />contracting with Anoka County for police protection. Councilmember Cox <br />stated that there must be a weak point somewhere causing the citizens to <br />press Council for this discussion and it's either a very strong union or a <br />lot of misconception; people voted into office have the right to review <br />options without being intimidated by those they are reviewing. <br /> <br />APPROVA~ OF ACENRA <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to <br />approve the agenda with the following additions: <br /> <br />Case ~6.A: Ken Miller well problem. <br /> <br />Case ~I1: <br /> <br />Request for authorization to hire economic development <br />intern to complete Star City tasks° <br /> <br />Case.~12: <br /> <br /> Recommendation from Economic Development Commission <br />regarding metro area resort site. <br /> <br />Case ~i3: <br /> <br />Request for metes and bounds subdivision; case of North <br />Fork, Inc. <br /> <br />Case ~14: <br /> <br />Enforcement of building code regarding automatic sprinkler <br />sytems. <br /> <br />Case #15: Establishment of November as Epilepsy Month. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Councilmember DeLuca requested that Council be <br />provided with a copy of the most recent meeting minutes of the Solid Waste <br />A~atement Task ForGe. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Cox to <br />approve the following items in the Consent Agenda: <br /> <br />1) City Council meeting minutes - <br /> <br />a) Special meeting minutes dated October 13, 1987. <br />b) Special meeting minutes dated October 20, 1987. <br />c) Regular meeting minutes dated October 27, 1987 with the following <br /> correction: Page 16 - 6th paragraph - 2nd line - change 'he!ful' <br /> to 'helpful'. <br />d) Public hearing meeting minutes dated November 10, 1987 regarding <br /> Waste Management of Minnesota, Inc.'s request to extend the term of <br /> a conditional .use permit for mining. <br /> City Council/November 24, 1987 <br /> <br />Page 4 of 16 <br /> <br /> <br />
