Holm also noted that Mr. MeukYeld's proposed P.U.D. to develop properties
for home occupations seemed like a good idea and it would provide a buffer
area between residential and industrial, Mr. Holm stated that several
years ago it was difficult to sell residential property in Ramsey because
interest rates and energy costs were high and specific neighborhoods may
have had issues particular to them. Mr. Holm stated that it would be
beneficial for Kamsey to take an aggressive approach to development,
however, development needs to be controlled and the City needs to plan for
development along the Hwy. ~/10 corridor. With regards to parks and trails
in Ramsey, Mr. Holm stated that most of the parks seem like outlots and
unusable land. Mr. Holm stated that open spaces are good but it takes
money to have those open spaces; he is not aware of the level of use of
parks but the City should be working towards a trail system. Regarding the
landfill, Mr. Holm stated that he is against burying trash because of the
potential for contamination. Although the landfill has improved it's image
visually, the height needs to be limited.

ADJ 0URNMENT

The interview session adjourned at 8:20 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Sylvia Frolik
Secretary

Ann& No~r£s
/ .
C~ommunzty Development Director

Planning & Zoning Commission/April 14, 1987
