CASE #7: R~UEST FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO GPADE AND EXCAVATE TO O{EATE A MAN-MAI~ LAKE IN T~E ~ P.U.D.; CASE OF L & G P4 BE/ , INC. AND FORK, INC. Norris, Ommmiq Deve/ t Director L & G Behbein, Inc. and North Fork, Inc. are requesting a conditional use permit to grade and excavate to create a second lake in the Northfork P.U.D. ~ne proposed lake will have approximately 40 acres of surface area and an average depth of 25 feet. The lake is proposed to be in the western part of the P.U.D., west of Andrie Street and south of 161st Avenue N.W. As you recall, Northfork P.U.D. was required to complete an environmental impact statement. This document made reference to the creation of a man-made lake in the develolm~-nt. I have reviewed the proposed lake with the Environmental Quality Board with respect to the requirement of an environmental assessment worksheet; the ~QB is satisifed that an additional environmental assessment worksheet is not necessary for the creation of this lake. The Department of Natural Resources has expressed concerns regarding the potential impacts of the proposed lake on Lake Itasoa.
