Norris, Community Develot~nent Director <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At your last meeting, you reviewed the R1-U and R1-R Residential districts in <br />the Urban Area with respect to their designations prior to recodification (UER <br />- Urban Existing Residential and UR - Urban Residential districts). As you <br />recall, there was some concern by both City staff and Mr. Schaumberg regarding <br />whether all properties previously zoned UER and UR should have been rezoned to <br />R1-U if they were in the general Urban Area boundary. <br /> <br />Mr. Sidney Schaumberg owns a strip of property located outside of the ].990 <br />Urban Area but within the Urban Area. Mr. Schaumberg's parcel is Currently <br />zoned R1-R Rural Residential and requires a minimum lot size of 2.5 aches. <br />Prior to the recodification of the Zoning Ordinance, this property was <br />zoned UR Urban Residential and requiired a minimum lot size of 1 acre. Mr. <br />Schaumberg is requesting clarification of the zoning and minimum lot size <br />for his parcel of land. <br /> <br />For your information, enclosed are the following items: <br /> <br />a) Map showing Mr. Schaumberg's propertTf <br />b) Planning and Zoning Commission meeting minutes dated February 3, <br /> 1981. <br />c) City Council meeting minutes dated February 24, 1981. <br />d) Draft of an agreement between Mr. Schaumberg and the City of <br /> Ramsey <br /> <br />A current zoning map will be available at the meeting. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />As you recall, the Commission requested information regarding <br />Schaun~oerg's previous request to the City regarding this piece of property <br />before taking any action on Mr. Schaumberg's request. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />If the Commission wishes to rezone all or a portion of that property within the <br />general Urban Area boundary to R1-U Urban Residential, the Commission should <br />establish a date for a public hearing to consider this amendment to the Zoning <br />Ordinance. <br /> <br />Commission Action: <br /> <br />Will be based on your discussion. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />A~inistrator <br />Attorney <br />Engineer X. <br />Con~u~it-y Develot~nent Director _ X~ <br /> <br />Chief of Police <br />Finance Officer <br />Public Wo[ks Superintendent <br />Other <br /> <br /> <br />
