CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at the Ramsey <br />Fire Station Number I, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councihnember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Public Works Director/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik <br />Assistant Community Development Director Patrick Trudgeon <br />Human Resources Manager Givonna Reed <br />Finance Officer Diana Lurid <br />Police Chief James Way <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:00 p.m. and called <br />upon the boy scouts that worked on the clean up of Ramsey Foster Cemetery to lead in the <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec thanked the boy scouts for their work in the cemetery. This work included <br />cleaning up the decaying trees and plants; removing old porcelain and ceramic items, beds and <br />barbed wires; removing vines from the trees; putting in a flower bed and chips at the entryway; <br />and putting tip a sign stating Ramsey Foster Cemetery Established Prior to 1860. <br /> <br />COMMENDATOIN TO POLICE OFFICERS <br /> <br />Police Chief Way reported that on March 24th of this year some Ramsey officers were put in a <br />situation where they received a call of a domestic situation in the City of Ramsey. The officers <br />responded to that call, which resulted in one of the officer's vehicle being shot tip by the male in <br />the situation. The officer was able to clear the area and get help. While waiting for help the <br />suspect left the residence in a pick up truck and drove to where the officers were waiting.
