DISCUSSION REGARDING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INTERN <br />By: Community Development Director Anne Norris <br /> <br />CASE <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />As you know, at its June 30, 1987 meeting the City Council reviewed the <br />Commission's request for an economic development intern and directed Staff <br />to determine whether Mr. Paul Fournier of the Iron Works Development <br />Corporation would be interested in working on completing the remaining Star <br />City tasks. <br /> <br />Mr. Fournier has stated that he would be available to assist the City in <br />completing the various Star City tasks; he would be available one to two <br />days per week. Mr. Fournier's rate as an independent consultant is <br />$50/hour. Mr. Fournier also stated that he anticipates it will take at <br />least 18 months to complete the various Star City activities. <br /> <br />For your information, enclosed is a letter and attachments from Mr. Paul <br />Fournier dated July 24, 1987. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />The City Council reviewed Mr. Fournier's letter and information on July 28, <br />1987 and referred the matter back to the Economic Development Commission <br />for their review and recommendation. <br /> <br />Mr. Fournier spent three years working on the Star City program in New <br />Brighton.
