Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #16-08-146 <br /> RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING SEPTEMBER 17—23,2016 AS CONSTITUTION WEEK <br /> WHEREAS, September 17, 2016, marks the two hundred twenty-ninth anniversary <br /> of the drafting of the Constitution of the United States of America by the Constitutional <br /> Convention; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to accord official recognition to this magnificent <br /> document and its memorable anniversary, and to the patriotic celebrations which will <br /> commemorate the occasion; and <br /> WHEREAS, Public Law 915 guarantees the issuing of a proclamation each year by the <br /> President of the United States of America designating September 17 through 23 as Constitution <br /> Week. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF RAMSEY,ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> 1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey hereby proclaims the week of September 17 <br /> through 23, 2016, as CONSTITUTION WEEK. <br /> 2) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey asks its citizens to reaffirm the ideals of the <br /> Framers of the Constitution by vigilantly protecting the freedoms guaranteed to us through <br /> this guardian of our liberties, remembering that lost rights may never be gained. <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof- <br /> and the following voted against the same: <br /> and the following abstained: <br /> and the following were absent: <br /> Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this <br /> the 23rd day of August 2016. <br /> Mayor <br />
