Councilmember Riley introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #16-06-120 <br /> RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br /> CONSTRUCTION FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #16-00 DIVISION A 2016 <br /> CRACKSEAL AND SEALCOAT IMPROVEMENTS <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey adopted a budget for 2016 that included $500,000 for <br /> cracksealing and sealcoating various public streets as part of the City's annual Street <br /> Maintenance Program for 2016;and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to a resolution of the City Council adopted May 24, 2016, the City <br /> Council accepted final plans and specifications and authorized advertisements for bids for said <br /> improvements; and <br /> WHEREAS, bids were received, opened, and tabulated on June 21, 2016, and the <br /> following bids were found to comply with the advertisement for bids; and <br /> BASE BID ALTERNATE BID <br /> CONTRACTOR (granite rock) (trap rock) <br /> Pearson Bros., Inc. $260,521.76 $260,521.76 <br /> Allied Blacktop Company $268,472.05 $0 <br /> Asphalt Surface Technologies Corp. $289,480.05 $299,960.31 <br /> Engineer's Estimate $345,637.32 $345,637.32 <br /> WHEREAS, the bid of Pearson Bros., Inc. of Hanover, Minnesota, in the amount of <br /> $260,521.76 for the base or the alternate bid for construction of said improvements in accordance <br /> with the approved plans and specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible <br /> bidder and their bid shall be and hereby is accepted. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> 1) The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br /> contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements based on the alternate <br /> bid using trap rock for and on behalf of the City of Ramsey. <br /> 2) The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br /> the deposits made with their bids at such time that a contract has been executed. <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> Johns, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />
