REQUEST FOR VARIANCE FROM HISSISSIPPI RIVER SE~ACK; <br /> CASE OF HR. RICHARD KIECKER <br /> By: Cmmunity Development Director Anne Norris <br /> <br />CASE #1: <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Mr. Richard Kiecker is requesting a variance from the Mississippi River <br />setback in order to construct an addition to his home at 14700 Bowers Drive <br />N.W. Mr. Kiecker is proposing to add a 20' x 20' addition on the west side <br />of his house facing the Mississippi River. The house is approximately 105 <br />feet from the river; the addition will encroach on the existing river <br />setback by 20 feet, leaving a river setback of approximately 85 feet. <br /> <br />Mr. Kiecker's property is in the Critical River Overlay District. <br />According to Section 170.0112G of the City Code, the required setback from <br />the river is 200 feet. <br /> <br />For your information, the following items are enclosed: <br /> <br />a) Application <br />b) Site location map <br />c) Proposed plot plan <br />d) Findings of Fact #0160 <br />e) Proposed variance <br />f) Letter from John Stine, DNR, dated April 29, 1987. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />The Board of Adjustment adopted findings of fact regarding Mr. Kiecker's <br />request on April 30, 1987 and tabled action on the request pending review <br />of it by John Stine of DNR.
