Councilmember Shryock introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #16-07-133 <br /> RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br /> CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #16-00 DIVISION Al 2016 <br /> CRACKSEAL AND SEALCOAT IMPROVEMENTS <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey adopted a budget for 2016 that included $500,000 for <br /> cracksealing and sealcoating various public streets as part of the City's annual Street <br /> Maintenance Program for 2016; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to a resolution of the City Council adopted June 28, 2016, the City <br /> Council accepted final plans and specifications and authorized advertisements for bids for said <br /> improvements; and <br /> WHEREAS, bids were received, opened, and tabulated on July 22, 2016, and the <br /> following bids were found to comply with the advertisement for bids; and <br /> CONTRACTOR TOTAL BID <br /> Allied Blacktop Co. $139,684.30 <br /> Pearson Bros., Inc. $141,004.59 <br /> Engineer's Estimate $190,682.46 <br /> WHEREAS, the bid of Allied Blacktop Co. of Maple Grove, Minnesota, in the amount <br /> of $139,684.30 for the total bid for construction of said improvements in accordance with the <br /> approved plans and specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder <br /> and their bid shall be and hereby is accepted. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> 1) The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br /> contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements based on the total bid <br /> for and on behalf of the City of Ramsey. <br /> 2) The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all <br /> bidders the deposits made with their bids at such time that a contract has been executed. <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> Johns and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> Mayor Strommen <br /> Councilmember Shryock <br /> Councilmember Johns <br /> Councilmember Kuzma <br /> Councilmember LeTourneau <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> Councilmember Williams <br />
