1) Park and Recreation Commission Regular Meeting Minutes dated March 10, 2016. <br /> Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chair Bennett, Commissioners Mobry, Fyten, Logan, Barr, <br /> Trappen, and Troy. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> 5. COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> 5.01: Recommend Certain 2016 Parks Capital Improvements <br /> Parks & Assistant Public Works Superintendent Riverblood explained that on an annual basis, <br /> the Park and Recreation Commission makes recommendations to the City Council for park and <br /> trail projects based upon community need. For 2016, there are eight projects identified in the <br /> Capital Improvement Program (CIP) comprising a wide range of improvements. He stated four <br /> 2016 projects are ready to move forward: irrigation filter system for The Draw at a cost of <br /> $25,000; drinking fountain with pet station and mister for Bear Park at $7,000; landscape <br /> improvements for the Trott Brook trail connection at $7,000; and, bituminous trail connection to <br /> the existing Trott Brook trail at $8,000. <br /> Mr. Riverblood stated staff recommends the Parks and Recreation Commission approve <br /> forwarding these four projects to City Council. <br /> Chair Bennett asked how many other projects are slated for 2016 and how many will they be able <br /> to work on. Mr. Riverblood stated there are four others, one that has been on the list for over a <br /> decade, which they have continuous talks on. <br /> Motion by Commissioner Barr, seconded by Commissioner Troy, to recommend to the City <br /> Council approval of four 2016 projects as follows: 2016 projects are ready to move forward: <br /> irrigation filter system for The Draw at a cost of$25,000; drinking fountain with pet station and <br /> mister for Bear Park at $7,000; landscape improvements for the Trott Brook trail connection at <br /> $7,000; and, bituminous trail connection to the existing Trott Brook trail at $8,000. <br /> Further discussion: Commissioner Troy asked what ongoing maintenance would be required for <br /> the filtration system. Mr. Riverblood stated he did not think there would be much maintenance <br /> needed for this type of irrigation system. <br /> Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chair Bennett, Commissioners Barr, Troy, Fyten, Logan, Mobry, <br /> and Trappen. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> 5.02: Consider Park and Recreation Outdoor Meeting Schedule <br /> Parks & Assistant Public Works Superintendent Riverblood presented the 2016 outdoor meeting <br /> schedule and reviewed the proposed parks. <br /> May 12th—Trott Brook Trail Connection, 170th Trail. <br /> June—Ford Brook Park, in the NE part of the community <br /> Park and Recreation Commission/April 14, 2016 <br /> Page 2 of 4 <br />
