Upon being asked, Mr. Parent stated that the home will be within 1 foot of <br />the scenic river easement. <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman inquired if DI~R makes periodic inspections of building <br />occuring on river lots. <br /> <br />Mr. Stine stated that periodic inspections are only made when there are <br />particular problems; those situations involving a variance are subjected <br />to final inspection to make sure the construction is within the terms of <br />the variance. .Mr. Stine also noted that damage to oak trees on the <br />property during construction can promote the spread of oak wilt disease and <br />he can provide the builder with proper methods of tree wound treatment to <br />prevent that spread of disease. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Holm to approve a <br />request for a variance by the A.J. Parent Company with the addition of the <br />following item to the agreement: <br /> <br />#5) Upon receipt of building permit from City of Ramsey, a stairway <br /> may be constructed from top of river bank to bottom of bank. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Chairman Zimmerman noted that Item #1 of the agreement <br />should be amended to not allow encroachment on the Rum River setback by <br />more than 40 feet. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Shumway, <br />LaDue, Terry, Holm and Hendriksen. Voting No: None. Absent:. <br />Commissioner Howell. <br /> <br />COMMISSION INPUT <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman requeted that the next regular Board of Adjustment <br />agenda include appointing a Chairman and Vice-Chairman and that the City <br />Attorney be present to swear in members. <br /> <br />ADJOUP~ENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Holm to adjourn <br />the regular Board of Adjustment meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Shumway, <br />LaDue, Terry, Holm a~d Hendriksen. Voting No: l{one.
