AUTHORIZE MAYOR AND CITY ATTORNEY TO SIGN <br />FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION ASSURANCE FORM <br /> <br /> By: William K. Goodrich, City Attorney <br />Brian Olson, Assistant Director of Public Works <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />As you are aware, the City is seeking a Federal Grant fi-om the Federal Transit Administration <br />("FTA") for the construction of a park and ride facility in the Town Center. The FTA requires <br />certain assurances by the City in order for it to approve the grant. These include an assurance that <br />the City will comply with all applicable Federal Statutes, regulations, etc.; maintain a drug free <br />workplace; a non-discrimination assurance; a disadvantaged business enterpr/se assurance; a non- <br />dischmination on the basis of disability assurance; a procurment compliance certification; a <br />lobbying disclosure and conduct a public hearing. The Mayor and City Attorney are required to <br />sign the FTA assurances. <br /> <br />Enclosure: <br /> <br />Federal Fiscal Year 2003 FTA Certifications and Assurances signature page. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Authorize Mayor and City Attorney to execute the assurances sig-nature page. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Authorize the Mayor and City Attorney to ekecute on behalf of the City the Federal Fiscal Year <br />2003 FTA Certifications and Assurances signature page regarding an FTA grant application for <br />construction of a park and ride facility in the City and to execute any other documents necessary to <br />properly apply for the grant. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br /> <br />-325- <br /> <br /> <br />
