A petition has been
submitted to the City which reflects that a majority of the affected property
o~ners are opposed to the proposed improvement; that petition has not yet been
presented to Council. City Council has indicated that if no petitions were
submitted opposing the improvement, they would consider the project at their
special meeting scheduled for January 6. There being a petition, it is
expected that City Council will ~m it more appropriate to deal with the issue
at the regular Council meeting scheduled for January 27. Mr. Hartley stated
that he will be su~tting the petition to Council on January 6 and according
fDC/January 5, 1987
