DISC~SSI0~ P4~74~)INS E~ENSI~ OF
UTILITIES TO P4~SEY' S IND~~ AREA
A. ne Norris, Co~nunity Develol~nt Director

CASE ~6:

Background:

As you recall, the City Council received a petition from more than 50% of
the affected property owners opposing the proposed project to extend sewer
and water to the City's industrial area. The Council held an informational
meeting on January 20, 1987 to discuss this project with affected property
c~ners.

At its January 5, 1987 meeting, the Econemic Develotx~ent Commission noted
that the Commission should establish certain guidelines for the
reconsideration of a project for the extension of utilities to the City's
Industrial area.

The City Engineer will be at the meeting to review with the Commission an
alternative for extending sewer and water to those properties requesting
such improvements. The City Administrator is anticipating that tax
increment will be used to finance the construction of any extension of
sewer and water to the industrial/commercial area and that Chapter 444
would be used to establish connection charges for properties wishing to
connect to the utilities.

Paoo~J~ation:

Co~missionAction:

Will be based on your discussion.

Review C~.klist:

Administrator X
Attorney X
Engineer X
Community Development Director X

Chief of l%lioe
Finance Officer
Public Works Superintendent
Other

X
