Voting No: None. <br /> <br />1987 Council Organization: <br /> <br />1) Designate the official newspaper(s) for the calendar year 1987 - <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember $orteberg <br />designating the Anoka County Union and Elk River Star News as the official <br />newspapers of the City of Ramsey and as such shall publish all legal <br />notices, vacancies, advertis~ents, publications, etc. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mr. Goodrich stated designating both papers as <br />official newspapers requires publication of all legal notices, etc. in both <br />papers; publication costs increase substantially. Councilmsmber Cox noted <br />that coverage is better with Elk River Star News because it is not a <br />subscription only publication. <br /> <br />councilmember Cox amended his motion to designate only the Anoka County <br />Union as the official newspaper of the City of Ramsey and as such shall <br />publish all legal notices, vacancies, advertis~nents, publications, etc. <br />Councilmember Sorteberg seconded the motion as amended. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mr. Hartley stated that the City would have the option <br />to publish notices, publications, etc., in the Elk River Star as necessary; <br />the Elk River Star distribution in Ramsey is to that area specifically <br />served by the Elk River School District. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson.
