Commissioner Brauer stated that this is impacted by the Met Council's inability to review each <br />city independently. He noted that Ramsey has a significant amount of wetland, river front, and <br />water ways that will not allow the density to be calculated in the same manner as some other <br />metro cities. <br />Commissioner Andrusko stated that the Met Council is not going to give preferential treatment to <br />any one community. <br />Commissioner Brauer stated that in his opinion the Met Council favors more wealthy areas in <br />their transportation planning <br />Commissioner Andrusko stated that having a common definition would assist with development. <br />He noted that perhaps this standard could apply to everything but The COR and instead could act <br />as an overlay for other parts of the City. <br />Community Development Director Gladhill stated that the definition of net density is not creating <br />those issues nor will it solve those issues. <br />Commissioner Brauer stated that The COR should be divorced from the other areas in the City <br />and perhaps this is the one place to start. <br />Community Development Director Gladhill stated that staff will look at some of the design <br />standards separate as that is what makes that development unique in The COR, not the definition <br />of net density. He suggested allowing staff to make a proposal that could come along with this <br />for review. <br />Public Hearing <br />Acting Chairperson VanScoy called the public hearing to order at 9:39 p.m. <br />Citizen Input <br />None. <br />Motion by Commissioner Maul, seconded by Commissioner Brauer, to close the public hearing. <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson VanScoy, Commissioners Maul, Brauer, <br />Andrusko, and Nosan. Voting No: None.
