Staff has reviewed how other communities address transient merchant sales and has prepared a document that <br />includes a range of regulations for the Commission to review. Commonly regulated aspects of use/site/structure <br />include: <br />• Ownership <br />• Parking, traffic circulation <br />o Number of parking spaces host -business is allowed to sacrifice <br />o Number of parking spaces needed to service use <br />• Size <br />o Relative to the host -business? Relative to parking area in which it is located? <br />• Duration, hours of operation, lighting <br />• Containment or cordoning <br />• Signage <br />• Site Maintenance <br />Other temporary or transient uses and structures that are similar in nature and therefore may warrant some <br />consideration include: produce stands, mobile food units (i.e. food trucks), and other pop -ups. <br />Funding Source: <br />This is being handled as part of Staffs regular duties. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff is not recommending any ordinance changes at this time, but seeks to either: <br />1. Confirm current policy consisting of only time limitations and location restrictions. <br />2.
