creation of the lake. Mr. Hartley stated that any conditional use permit
is perpetual in nature as long as the conditions are complied with. If
not, Council can revoke the permit through a public hearing process. State
law as well as City ordinances require that properties within 350' of that
area addressed in a conditional use permit application be notified of the
public hearing. A notice is also published in the Anoka Union and Elk
River Star. The city tries very hard to keep everyone informed; one of the
tools used in that effort is the Ramsey Resident; tonight's hearing was not
published in the Resident as it was called on short notice. Tonight's
hearing is also not required by law but Council wanted the input from
citizens. The City tries to get the word out to people that might be
affected but encounters problems when up-to-date information is not
available regarding who owns property.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to
adjourn the public hearing.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg,
DeLuca, Pearson and Cox. Voting No: None.

The public hearing adjourned at 8:47 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Sylvia Frolik
Secretary

David Hartley
City Administrator

City Council Public Hearing/August 19, 1987
