Economic Development Authority(EDA) 4.4. <br /> Meeting Date: 08/04/2016 <br /> Submitted For: Patrick Brama,Administrative Services <br /> By: Patrick Brama,Administrative Services <br /> Title: <br /> EDA Business of the Year <br /> Purpose/Background: <br /> The purpose of this case is to nominate the 2016 Business Ramsey of the Year,an annual nomination made by the <br /> EDA. <br /> The Ramsey Business of the Year is selected from a list of 3-5 candidates(known as the "small list"). The purpose <br /> of the small list is to narrow down the voting/analysis process to a small pool of candidates. Said candidates are <br /> asked to answer a set of questions. The small list makes for a more efficient and effective process for the EDA. <br /> The small list of candidates is derived from a"large list." The large list was selected by the EDA in 2011. Both lists <br /> are included in this case. Staff believes the larger list should be updated as part of this discussion. <br /> Notification: <br /> Bolton&Menk has been notified of the EDA's intent to make them the 2016 EDA Business of the Year. <br /> Observations/Alternatives: <br /> Small List <br /> Staff follows up with a set of interview questions for each candidate on the small list. Responses to these questions <br /> are provided to the EDA in one comprehensive document. The EDA utilizes said document to select a business of <br /> the year. At this point, staff would like to add three new businesses to the "small list" --to get the list back to five <br /> nominees. <br /> 1. Zero Zone <br /> 2.
