Minnesota Department of Transportation
Aon'""ES°'qya Metro District
1500 West County Road B-2
Roseville, MN 5511
July 8, 2016
Mark Riverblood
Parks and Asst. Public Works Superintendent
City of Ramsey
7550 Sunwood Dr NW
Ramsey, MN 55303
RE: Regional Solicitation Application for Pedestrian and Bike Crossing at TH 10 and
Ramsey's Northstar Station
Dear Mr. Riverblood:
Thank you for requesting a letter of support from MnDOT for the Metropolitan
Council/Transportation Advisory Board(TAB) 2016 Regional Solicitation. Your application for
the Pedestrian and Bike Crossing at TH 10 and Ramsey's Northstar Station impacts MnDOT
right of way on TH 10.
MnDOT, as the agency with jurisdiction over TH 10, would allow the grade-separated bike and
pedestrian crossing included in the application for Pedestrian and Bike Crossing at TH 10 and
Ramsey's Northstar Station project. Details of any future maintenance agreement with the
County will be determined during project development to define how the improvements will be
maintained; however, pedestrian and bike amenities that impact MnDOT right of way are
normally owned and maintained by the local agency.
This project has no funding from MnDOT. In addition, the Metro District currently has no
discretionary funding in year 2020 of the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) or
year 2021 of the Capital Highway Investment Plan(CHIP)to assist with construction or assist
with MnDOT services such as the design or construction engineering of the project. Please
continue to work with MnDOT Area staff to assist in identifying additional project funding.
Sincerely,
Scott McBride, P.E.
Metro District Engineer
Cc: Elaine Koustsoukos, Metropolitan Council
Sheila Kauppi, MnDOT Metro District—North Area Manager
An Equal Opportunity Employer
