Meeting Date: 07/19/2016 By: Bruce Westby,Engineering/Public Works 'Title: Staff Updates on Improvement Projects and Items of Interest Purpose/Background: The purpose of this case is to update the Public Works Committee on active and proposed improvement projects within the City,and on other items of interest to the Committee as noted below. MnDOT Improvement Projects •TH 47 at 142nd Avenue •Remove left turns from southbound TH 47 to eastbound 142nd Avenue •Construction proposed currently scheduled from August 22, 2016 to Sept. 25, 2016 •Project web site link: http://www.dot.state.nm.us/metro/projects/hwy47/index.htmi Anoka County Improvement Projects •CR 116/Bunker Lake Boulevard Pavement Reclamation and Overlay—Ramsey Boulevard to Basalt Street •Existing pavement was reclaimed and overlaid with 4"new pavement •Construction complete (except left/right turn arrows) • CR 83/Armstrong Boulevard Pavement Reclamation and Overlay—149th Lane to 173rd Avenue •Existing pavement to be reclaimed and overlaid with 4"new pavement •Bypass lanes added at 154th, 157th,and 163rd Avenues •Right turn lanes added at 155th and Tiger Avenues •New striping and signs •Construction scheduled from September 12th through October 14th (will not interfere with Game Fair) City Improvement Projects •Business Park 95 Regional Stormwater Pond Improvements •June 28th—Council accepted bids and awarded Construction Contract to New Look Contracting,Inc. •Currently executing Construction Contract •Construction to occur in July/August 2016 (dry season) •Andrie Street& 164th Lane Reconstruction •May 24th—Council awarded Construction Contract to Douglas-Kerr Underground, LLC •June 23rd—Construction began (3 phases) •Phase 1 - South end of Andrie Street between Alpine Drive and Muirfield Court(1 month) •Phase 2 -North end of Andrie Street between Muirfield Court and 164th Lane(1 month) •Phase 3 - 164th Lane (1 month) •Project completion scheduled for early October 2016 •2016 Sealcoat Project •June 28th—Council accepted bids and awarded Construction Contract to Pearson Bros, Inc. •Currently executing Construction Contract •Construction to occur July to mid-August 2016 •2016 Overlay Project •June 14th—Council approved plans&authorized bids •July 14th—Bids to be opened •July 26th—Council to consider accepting bids&awarding a construction contract •Construction proposed to begin early August
