Ramsey."

Roger Jeffers - 8341 154th Avenue - Stated that on his way to work he was
behind one of Rehbein's trucks and the driver disregarded a stopped school
bus with flashing red lights taking on passengers.

Mayor Reimann stated that police records can be checked to determine if the
school bus company filed a complaint.

Gregg Smith - 15250 Iguana - Stated that he recently drove here from the
State of Virginia and as he passed through all the states he noticed that
every small town has monuments erected in honor of heros and developers.
Mr. Smith stated that Ramsey seems to be more concerned with the dump. Mr.
Smith urged council to think about things before permitting something like
the Rehbein situation.

Terry O'Connor- 15311 Iguana - Stated that Rehbein's trucks are moving
fast and he is afraid for the safety of the children playing along the
roadside while they wait for the school bus .

Wendy Graves - 7960 150th Lane - Stated that the trucks go by every 5
minutes from morning till night; one went by tonight at 6:55 p.m; she
thinks they are speeding; and there is definitely a noise factor. She
drove through the Northfork area and the trucks were constantly tailgating
her; they would not slow down for anything.

Councilmember Cox stated that Council and Staff realize there is a problem
and the issue will be placed on the agenda for discussion.

Citizen - Stated that there are no signal lights at Cry. Rd. #83 and Hwy.
#10; trucks trying to enter Hwy. #10 creates a dangerous situation.

APPROVAL OF-AGENDA

Councilmember Cox inquired as to the status of Council's directive from a
previous meeting to again pursue reducing the speed limit on I67th Avenue.

City Engineer Raatikka stated that MN/DoT has been contacted for signal
lights at Hwy. #47 and 167th Avenue but not for a reduction of speed limit
on 167th.

Councilmember Cox stated that MN/DoT should be made aware of Ramsey's
position that speed limits are reduced where major thoroughfares pass
through towns; I67th is a collector street between two major thoroughfares
and yet previous requests to get the speed limit reduced were denied.

Councilmember Cox noted that RYA~ is conducting a raffle ticket fundraiser
relating to the Community Picnic on June 14 at Central Park.

Councilmember Cox requested that the Personnel Committee review the need to
have a telephone receptionist at city offices taking all incoming calls and
directing them to appropriate departments.

Mr. Hartley requested several additions to the agenda.

City Council/May 26, 1987
