CONCESSIONS <br /> <br />Roseville <br /> <br />They have concessions only in Central Park. They lost money <br />operating as city concession through parks. Now lease to private <br />for profit individual in exchange for percentage of gross. Still <br />is very small revenue producer. <br /> <br />Brooklyn Park <br /> <br />Brooklyn Park Athletic Association handles concessions except for <br />special events which may have Lions, Jaycees, etc. City does not <br />get involved other than licensing. Thought that BPAA "just kind <br />of inherited it." <br /> <br />Brooklyn Center <br /> <br />They have their own food wagon staffed by city parks employees. <br />Special events handled by Lions, Jaycees, etc. <br /> <br />MIqPA (Minnesota Recreation & Parks Association) <br /> <br />Has conference coming up in early December on contracting out <br />including park maintenance and concessions. They said most <br />communities have non-profit organizations handle concessions but <br />didn't know how the cit~distributed rights. <br /> <br />Champlin <br /> <br />They staff with city employees. <br />organizations. <br /> <br />Special events by non-profit <br /> <br />Anoka <br /> <br />Make application to park board. No fee to non-profit. <br /> <br /> <br />
