Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox inquired if a conditional use permit is necessary when no <br />repairs and welding will be done on the premises. <br /> <br />Ms. Norris stated that Mr. O'Leary's request meets the criteria for a home <br />occupation and on that basis requires a conditional use permit to use the <br />home address as a business base. <br /> <br />Mr. O'Leary stated that he will not encourage or seek off-the-street <br />business; he prefers the contract type of work he is now doing; he ]las one <br />business truck that will be parked inside and one that is parked ou~ide, <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson and seconded by Councilmember Cox to <br />approve Mr. Joseph 0'Leary's request for a conditional use permit to <br />operate a field welding and repair business from his home with the <br />following amendments being made to the conditional use permit agreement. <br /> <br />Add Item #5 to read as follows: 'No welding and repair services will <br />be provided on the premises to off-the-street cusotmers.' <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case ~,3: <br /> <br />Request For Conditional Use Permit To Ooerate Glass <br /> IDstallation Business From Home: Case Of Mr. Brian Jerome <br /> Wendt: <br /> <br />Mr. Wendt stated that the majority of his glass repairs are done on job <br />site locations; he does a lot of insurance replacement work and some people <br />do prefer to drop those repairs off at his home · <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that bringing in traffic and customers that are <br />not familiar to the neighborhood is what residents are concerned about° <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich noted that Mr. O'Leary does have a condition of <br />premises violation in his property file that doesn't relate to the glass <br />repair business. <br /> <br />Ms. Norris noted that Mr. O'Leary did correct the condition of premises <br />violation prior to making application for a conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmem~oer Cox and seconded by Counciim~ber DeLuca to adopt <br />Fimdings of Fact 0184, amended as follows, relating to Mr. Brian Jerome <br />Wendt's requeat for a conditional use pea--mit: (Please refer to fimdings of <br />fact file for Findings cf Fact <br /> <br />Add Item ~'~ = ' ' <br /> ~,~ to read as follows: '%~aat tee Applicant has stated that <br />he would have some retail customers coming to the premises.' <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Wendy Rahn - 16865 Sodium - Stated she lives next door <br />to Mr. Uendt and has no objection if he has customers coming to the home. <br /> City Council/October i3, 1987 <br /> <br />Page il cf !8 <br /> <br /> <br />
