O'Leary's neighbors stated that they are in favor of the permit being <br />granted. <br /> <br />Motion by Commisgioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Shumway to <br />recommend that City Council adopt findings of fact relating to Mr. Joseph <br />O'Leary's request for a conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners LaDue, <br />Hendriksen, Howell, Shumway and Terry. Voting No: None. Absent: <br />Commissioner Holm. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Shumway and seconded by Commissioner Howell to <br />recommend that City Council approve of Mr. Joseph O'Leary's request for a <br />conditional use permit to operate a welding and repair business from his <br />home. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners LaDue, <br />Hendriksen, Howell, Shumu~ay and Terry. Voting No: None. Absent: <br />Commissioner Holm. <br /> <br />Case f~3: <br /> <br />Request For Conditional Use Permit To Operate Glass <br /> I.Bstallation Business From Home: Case Of Mr. Brian Jerome <br /> Wendt: <br /> <br />The Commission reviewed the proposed findings of fact. <br /> <br />Ms. Norris stated that Mr. Wendt has indicated~that 99% of his work is away <br />from his home and by appointment. The conditional use permit is required <br />because he u~es his home mailing address as his business address and stores <br />his business truck in his garage. <br /> <br />Mr. Steve Friese stated that he was in objection to Mr. Wendt's request <br />because there has been an accumulation of junk problem at Mr. Wendt's <br />address in the past and maybe cleaning it up was a ploy to get the <br />neighbors to not disagree with the permit being granted. <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman stated that granting a pe~-nnit would give the city more <br />control over Mr. Wendt's condition of premises; no outside storage would be <br />a condition of the permit and not complying with any condition would be <br />cause for revocation of the pe-~mit. <br /> <br />Mr. Friese stated that he is sure research~__ <br />regret granting variances for h~e occuaptions in residential areas. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Eendriksen amc seconded oy Coumis=~oner ~.a~ue to <br />recommend that Citv~ Council adopt findings of f-c~,= + amended as follows, <br />relating to ~'-.-~. =~-~,~=~ Jerome Wendt ~ __c_~=~ for a varzance: <br /> <br />Item ~2 should read as follows: 'That the Ramsey Planning and Zoning <br />Commission conducted a public hearing pursuant to Section 170.0!3g of <br />the Rausey City Code on October 6, 1987 and that said public hearing <br />was properly advertised and that the minutes of said public are hereby <br />incorporated as a part of these findings by reference.' <br /> Planning & Zoning Commission/October 6, 1987 <br /> <br />Page5 of g <br /> <br /> <br />
