Councilmember Cox noted that any final agreement entered into would a~]r~ss <br />these areas of concern in more detail. <br /> <br />Councilmember Sorteberg inquired as to the im~ct of the landfill expansion <br />on the proposed airport project. <br /> <br />Councilm~r Cox stated that bird activit~ and site height are concerns. <br />With the site settlement that would occur, the final hill height would not <br />exceed airport height limits. <br /> <br />Mr. ~artley noted that the period of time in which Federal requirements for <br />funding participation must be met is much earlier than when that settl~m~=.nt <br />would occur. <br /> <br />Councilmember COx noted that P~msey will not be in a position t° make a <br />final decision regarding the vertical expansion; the City better have it's <br />concerns addressed and documented in case the expansion is approved. <br /> <br />Councilmember DeLuca requested clarification regarding Clean Up Day being <br />subject to FI~ Control regulations mandated by the (k~nty. <br /> <br />Mr. Otter replied that if there would be a mandate that material collected <br />in Ramsey must be taken to the Elk River facility, then the Pamsey Clean Up <br />Day would have to be voided as allowing citizens use of the Ramsey site <br />would be violating the <br /> <br />Councilm~ber COx stated that he would very much appreciate Waste Mangement <br />offering a P~msey Clean Up Day for 1987 similar to what was done in 1986; <br />that it would tie in very nicely with promoting "Keep America Beautiful <br />Week" projects Mr. Terry Miller is working on. <br /> <br />Mr. Otter stated that even without an agreement from City Council regarding <br />the proposal presented to them this evening, and unless he hears that <br />Council is totally adimant to proccc~ing in any direction on the proposal, <br />he is willing to offer a Ramsey Clean Up Day for 1987 and will provide the <br />City written oonfirmation of that offer. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Counc~]m~mher Pearson to accept <br />Waste Management of Minnesota, Inc. 's offer for a 1987 l~mmey C~ean Up Day <br />for Ramsey residents. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Beimaun, Counc~rs Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />In reference to the proposed agreement by Waste Management, Councilmember <br />Sorteberg raised some concerns regarding drainage and/or sedimentation <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley responded by saying that specific plans were not available and <br />that detailed information of this type has been requested of Waste <br />Management o <br /> <br />City Council/March 3, 1987 <br /> <br />Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
