CASE #7:

DIS(~SSION lq~J~RDING 1987 APPLICATION FOR 1988 L/~~ FUND~
By: C~ty Develolanent Director ~nne Norris

Background:

For your information, enclosed is the application and information packet
containing regulations and guidelines for the 1987 applications for 1988
IAWOON/LCMR funds for park develounent. As in years past, emphasis for the
LM~CON funds (maximum of $400,000 per application) is on natural park areas
and passive uses such as trails, river accesses, etc. rather than active
uses such as athletic fields. However, there are limited LCMR funds
available (maximum of $40,000 per application) for the development of
outdoor athletic fields. Please note that the local share in either
program would be at least 50% of the total proposed project cost.

As you recall, last year the City suhnitted an application for funds from
both programs for the develounent of River's Bend Park, including trails,
river access, parking facilities and athletic fields.

Recommendation:

The Commission needs to determine what should be included in this year's
application for 1988 LAWCON/LCMR funds.

Ommdssion Action.'
Will be based on your discussion.

Review Checklist:

Administrator
Attorney
Engineer
Community Development Director

X

Chief of Police
Finance Officer
Public Works Superintendent
Other
