Chairman Lichter noted results indicated inadequate facilities which <br />are nacre costly to inaprove. <br /> <br />Cornn-dssioner Shumway asked Anne Norris who contacts owners for <br />easements. The City Adlministrator and City Attorney take care of <br />this, first approaching the City Council and then approaching the <br />property owners. Some owners may want a lot of ~r~oney for the <br />easerrient. Some easements are in the Comprehensive Park Plan for <br />hiking, biking and cross country skiing, 150 feet on each side of <br />brook. <br /> <br />I:dotion by Cornmisisoner Shunaway that the Park Board would like to <br />pursue the trail system along Trott Brook, with guidance fron-, the <br />City Council on how to acquire land or obtain easements along the <br />brook for multiple use trail, and checking %,¢ith DNR for fundin¢, as <br />this is in the ~977 Cornprehensive Plan. Art, ended by Commissioner <br />Lichter to include Ford Brook, seconded by Commissioner Hetland. <br />I~otion carried. <br /> <br />CASE 4: Discussion re~ardin¢ e}:pansion of '¢¢amrdn¢ house and <br />hookev/skatinK rink facilities. <br /> <br />There is $125,000 in park development funds and Chairman Lichter <br />said ¢orr, e should be spent. Commissioner Hetland suggested they <br />develop a prosra~, and put money into buildings and hockey rink <br />at Central Park, and leave the pleasure rir~k at Ra~¥,sey School. <br />Or~aniEed hockey could be at Central Park leaving one hockey rink <br />and open skating at the school. One rink could be moved to Central <br />Park and another rink built,, but lights %vould be needed. Requected <br />Anne Norris to get costs of ~¢arrning house and an estin-,ate for <br />tennis courts, and phase 2 of parking lots.
