study noting that if those that are underpaid are to be brought up into <br />their pay range then those that are overpaid should be brought down into <br />their appropriate range. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that he doesn't think Council should reduce wages but <br />rather give a lesser rate, freeze the rate or prepare justification <br />regarding why they are being paid the rate they are. <br /> <br />Council directed that the Comparable Worth Study be placed on the next <br />Council meeting agenda. <br /> <br />Councilmember COx inquired if F~. Hartley needs Council direction prior to <br />proceeding with mediation on the AFSCME contract. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley noted that such direction should come from a closed executive <br />session that has been properly advertised. <br /> <br />Case ~9: Proposed Resolution Declaring April As Registration Awareness <br /> Month: <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that the Selective Service System has requested that <br />Ramsey support April as Registration Awareness Month. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />adopt Resolution #87-71 declaring April to be Registration Awareness Month. <br />(Please refer to resolution file for Resolution ~87-71). <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mayor Reimann requested that Registration Awareness <br />Month be advertised on Cable T. V. local access channel and in the City <br />newsletter. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Proposed Resolution _Appo_ inting The Commissioner Of <br /> Transportation As Ramsey's A~_ent For Receiving MSA Funds: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember COx and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to adopt <br />Resolution ~87-72 appointing the State Commissioner of Transportation as <br />Ramsey's agent for receiving MSA funds. (Please refer to resolution file <br />for Resolution #87-72). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Cox to <br />adjourn the special Council meeting. <br /> <br />¥~tion carried.
